My pre-registration placement with a regional multiple brought me to Staffordshire in 1990 and it has been my home since. The start of my own pharmacy journey began at Bradford University in 1985 and has taken me through spells in industry, branch management; with small and large multiples, area management, self employed locums and as an independent contractor. A member of staff did tell me I had been round the pharmacy block a few times! However, in my current role as the superintendent pharmacist in a small independent group, I feel this experience gives me a good insight in to the opportunities and challenges that face all pharmacies. While serving on the committee I hope to communicate well with contractors and make a valuable, balanced yet robust contribution to develop pharmacy services.
Outside of pharmacy, when I’m not playing sport, my main role is as Dad’s taxi.
