Decommissioning of the Staffordshire Pharmacy Quit Smoking Service (NOT Stoke on Trent Service)

Decommissioning of the Staffordshire Pharmacy Quit Smoking Service (NOT Stoke on Trent Service)

May 18, 2020

We have been informed by Central Health Solutions (the West Midlands’ regional pharmacy “provider company”) that the quit smoking service in Staffordshire delivered through community pharmacies has ended due to low levels of activity.

This does not affect the Stoke on Trent smoking cessation service which is commissioned by Stoke City Council.

All pharmacy providers who were delivering the Staffordshire County Service via CHS Ltd received the following notification last week:

Dear Contractor,
We have received communication from Everyone Health to inform us that unfortunately, the Stop Smoking Service is being decommissioned due to low activity. Therefore, please do not accept any new clients into the service, but continue to support any clients that have already signed up and have started their quit attempt.
If you have any new clients that wish to stop smoking, please give them the following number: 03330050095
Please continue to ensure that all data is up to date and entered onto PharmOutcomes.
Everyone Health will be in touch to arrange collection of equipment and resources that were on loan to you.
Thank you for working with Central Health on this service and if you have any questions or queries please get in touch.

We would ask all of our contractors to signpost any eligible patients to the helpline number above, and not to pharmacies previously providing the service.
Thank you for your support.
