VITAMIN D

Please find attached the latest guidance from our local health economy on testing and treating for vitamin D deficiency.  The guidance directs patients currently receiving Vitamin D on prescription without a medical condition requiring vitamin D correction to purchase Vitamin D. As a result, you may notice an increase in OTC requests for vitamin D, patients will require either the 400unit (10mcg) or 1000unit (25mcg). Please note, any patients requesting to purchase 800 units (POM) can be advised to purchase 1000units.
